Philatelically however… I recall reading this thread a number of years back on exposed screwheads being inked in margins of battleship revenues:

Since then, I’ve kept an eye out for examples at shows and online, but have struck out.

I missed out on a couple on eBay since I didn’t notice them until after the fact:

Fast forward to earlier this week. I stopped by Denny Peoples’ house in Indianapolis since I hadn’t made it to any shows recently and couldn’t make the MSDA show this weekend, and my eyes lit up when I saw these two pieces, from a collection of battleship-era material he had broken down.
